Either of these destinations could be done separately but we strongly suggest the combination. Londolozi was named “one of the most forward-thinking emotional-wellness offerings in southern Africa right now” by Condé Naste Traveller Magazine in 2019. Mixed with the privacy and isolation afforded by Little Vumbura’s location, these lodges offer ideal opportunities to revitalise and restore in wilderness.

Londolozi, Varty Camp, Sabi Sands, South Africa

Nights 1 – 4

If there is anywhere striving to make wellness a focal point, it’s Londolozi. With the introduction of the Healing House, Londolozi is creating a new space which allows the wilderness to become the enduring source of wellness.

A yoga deck built into the arms of a 500 year old Ebony tree overlooking the Sand River, a full menu of treatments such as sound healing, body work, reiki, access to a freeze pool as well as a fully-equipped gym and health nourishing meals make this a transformative wellness experience. The world-class game viewing doesn’t hurt either.

Why It’s a Wild Again Favourite

Varty Camp lies at the heart of Londolozi, literally and figuratively. The camp fire has burned here for over 90 years and is home to the original Sparta hunting camp. It is a tapestry of brick paths, dolerite rock walls, waterfalls and tangled vines echoing simple spaces with unencumbered river view backdrops. The tones of the camp reflect the owners’ 90-year love affair with this land and therefore place an emphasis on family and heritage. Its easy access to the Healing House make it the ideal camp for a wellness-focused experience.

Intercontinental, Johannesburg, South Africa

Nights 5

Providing convenience, style and all the upscale facilities you’d expect from an award-winning hotel, the InterContinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport Hotel offers travelers a truly memorable Johannesburg airport hotel.

Why it’s A Wild Again Favourite

Here you can enjoy a host of services and facilities, from conferencing to an indoor pool, spa and the Quills African restaurant. The sights of Gauteng’s City of Gold are in easy reach should you wish to explore, with art galleries, museums, shops and game reserves nearby.

Little Vumbura, Okavango Delta, Botswana

Nights 6 – 9

Little Vumbura, a jewel tucked into the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta, is a prime example of a camp that lends itself exquisitely to a wilderness and wellness experience.

Imagine stepping away for a few long moments and landing on a small, private island completely surrounded by untamed wilderness. The place and space are the perfect remedy to inspire your re-connection. Waking to the wide expanses of the Okavango Delta stretching in all directions, life throngs around you and re-awakens life within you. In the crisp morning air you climb off of the viewing deck and into a private boat or, for the more adventurous option, step down into a mokoro and your yoga practice begins as you breathingly fall in line with the natural rhythm of the morning. Paddling through reed and lily-lined canals, the only traffic you meet is the plethora of tiny frogs, birds and hippo, the wild inhabitants that created these natural thoroughfares. Just minutes later you step onto your very own private island and into the heart of your practice.

Why It’s a Wild Again Favourite

Little Vumbura is an intimate six-roomed tented camp shaded by the canopy of an ancient forest. Each well-appointed tent has en-suite facilities and a deck with incredible vistas. A plunge pool and reading area overlook the floodplains while a star deck is reached by a bridge from the dining area.

In addition to helping to conserve the area, Little Vumbura is part of a community participation plan that brings the benefits of ecotourism to the communities that live around the Okavango Delta. As you give to yourself you give back to the land and communities too.

It is the best place to see sable and wild dogs in the Delta.
